Finding closure at 2005's half-way mark!
Here is a quick list of some key turning points for the good of IT:
1. More Enterprise level involvement to school aged children
2. Increased problem solving for some of those more mysterious catastrophe's
3. Getting a handle on White Collar Crime, Industrial Espionage, and Missing Merchandise
4. More diverse relational options for real time A/R and A/P needs
5. Spending is on the rise
6. Integration is becoming more relevant than revamping architecture
7. IT Legistlation is turning in the direction of increased IT support and security
8. Peace making between IT developers, Government, ASB (all sized businesses)
9. IP Telephony
10. The birth of Data Maintenance
Here is a quick list of some of the issues we have left to confront:
1. Scalable SOA
2. Human Resources in more literal terms and applications
3. Increased attention to long term on going data maintenance
4. Diversification of application accessibility connecting businesses, to manufacturers, and end users alike
5. Realizing that any code that is used to disrupt the processes of software by way of vulnerabilities in both connection and browser security systems should be analyzed for distinction but should be bundled by law as malicious code and treated with the same severity as any virus creator. This means Phishing, Spyware/Adware, Pharming, and whatever they come up with next.
6. Locating and routing out organized crime
7. Locating and neutralizing disruptive labor
8. Concentrating labor hours in proportion to the automation processes so, that IT implementations can occur seamlessly along with training.
9. Structuring business organization for today's needs from the core of the enterprise
10. Assessing, Budgeting, and implementing in 3 and 5 year cycles IT upgrades as a permanent necessity
The greatest stride I have witnessed thus far is the responsibility each state is taking in IT focus applications and implementation innovation.
So far, Florida and Texas are stabilizing their economies and increasing employment. New York and New England states are following suit. Now it's California's turn to maintain its progressive lead in IT evolutions by practicing what it has been preaching.
